National Acadian Day August 15, 2012!

Come one, come all to the official activities marking National Acadian Day in Abram-Village on Wednesday, August 15, starting at 6:00 p.m.!

*The tintamarre will start in the parking lot of the Évangéline Rec Centre and the rest of the activities will be at the Évangéline Rec Centre.

Souris Region – Saturday, August 11:

The Comité acadien et francophone de l'est is happy to invite you to their 6th Annual Acadian Festival

Activities will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Music from: The Ross Family; Art Richard; Lem and Peter Chiasson and Elmer Jr. and Charity.
Also the raising of the Acadian flag and children's activities!

Traditional Acadian food will be available for free all day!

Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for children and $25 for a family.

Port-la-Joye—Fort Amherst National Historic Site – Sunday, August 12:

The Port-la-Joye—Fort Amherst National Historic Site, in collaboration with the SSTA, is happy to invite people to a celebration at the historic site on August 12 beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Activities will start with a purification ceremony and Mi'kmaq dance, the raising of the flag and a talk by Dr. Melvin Gallant.
There will be games and activities for the whole family, music and a tintamarre. The day will end around 4:30 p.m.
People are invited to bring a picnic.

West Prince Region – Sunday, August 12:

The Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest will celebrate National Acadian Day on Sunday, August 12, starting at 2:00 p.m!

There will be face painting for the children and local artists will entertain the crowd.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
